The Ball is Rolling

Friday, the 19th,  the first group of packers came for our express shipment. That small shipment of belongings includes necessities like kitchenware, bed linens, bath towels, cleaning supplies, and some toys. It took a lot of time to generate a packing list and weeks to start gathering things together, then the moving team took all of twenty minutes to pack our belongings up and take them. Once that shipment was taken, we got busy priming our painted walls and I went back to my obsessive list writing in preparation for the next group of packers to come for our stuff to go in storage.

We received our military issued passports at last as well as Chris's tourist passport. I spent this last weekend breaking in my new sewing machine to make something to hold all 9 of our passports, boarding passes and some Yen! I also made the kids a pillow case with a handle to carry and a pocket to hold a small blanket for the long flight to Iwakuni. They are more than thrilled with them and I'm thrilled to check the box on those projects and move on to other preparations.
